FAQ

Answers to common questions about mapgrass.

Q: How does mapgrass define a country?

A: mapgrass treats countries using ISO 3166-1 alpha-2 two-letter codes (for example, JP and US).

Country codes are based on the iso-3166 package, and display names in both English and Japanese are derived from Intl.DisplayNames.

Country borders displayed on the map are based on Natural Earth data provided through the world-atlas package.

These definitions are used for technical consistency in search, display, and data handling, and do not express any political intent or position.

Country codes, names, and borders may change when the underlying standards or data sources are updated.

Q: What happens to my data if I downgrade from Pro to Free?

A: Your existing data will not be deleted or hidden. Everything you created while on the Pro plan remains as-is.

In short, downgrading only affects what you can add going forward — it never removes what you have already created.

Q: What do the map colors mean?

A: The map uses a green gradient to show how many canvases you have created for each country.

Countries with no canvases are shown in a neutral color. As you add more canvases for a country, the color shifts through several shades of green — from light to dark — reflecting a higher number of canvases.

Hovering over a country displays its name and the number of canvases you have created for it.

A color legend is displayed below the map, indicating the scale from fewer to more canvases.
